چکیده
Gnoriste macra Johannsen was described from Whitefish Bay, Wisconsin in 1912. The type locality is now a highly residential region few miles north of the center Milwaukee. Herein, collection events are reported for G. Sauk County southcentral Wisconsin. These new records, nearly century after only other literature record, indicate species still thrives though likely extirpated locality. specimens were recovered unbaited Townes Malaise traps during mid- to late May, 2006 and 2020. Cranial anatomy functional morphology head suggests may be specialized pollinator candidate plant hypothesized.

متن کاملSix new species of Acomoptera from North America (Diptera, Mycetophilidae)
Six new species are described, raising the number of North American Acomoptera species to seven and the genus total to ten, and nearly doubling the number of species within the putative clade containing Acomoptera, Drepanocercus, and Paratinia. These novel species forms have implications for the concept of Acomoptera that in turn, may impact our understanding of its generic relationships and th...

The distribution of Acomopterella species in the Palaearctic region has been re-examined in this study, using recently collected material. The European species was found to be distributed in the eastern Palaearctic as well. A second Palaearctic species from Honshu (Japan) is herein described. The morphology of adult specimens was studied by light microscopy and scanning electron microscopy. The...

This is a series of three manuscripts about the genus Ablabesmyia. In the first new species are described, three species are re-examined and keys to males, pupae and larvae of known neotropical species are provided and an emended generic diagnosis of Ablabesmyia is given. The second manuscript will analyze the molecular data of Neotropical species and the third one will check, through a phyloge...

In our recent paper on Palaearctic Docosia Winnertz, 1863, a new species was described under the name Docosia turkmenica Kurina & Ševčík, 2012. The material originated from the Kopet Dag Mountains (Big Bakhcha River) in southwest Turkmenistan and was named for its occurrence in the country (Kurina & Ševčík 2012). Unfortunately, the authors were not aware of a previous paper by Zaitzev (2011) de...
